Here are a few commonly asked questions that might help you get started with your framing or printing project. Please feel free to contact us here if we haven’t addressed your concerns.
Maybe, and for good reason. Our printers are true giclée printers and use the highest quality pigment inks available today. Further, our print media, whether it’s canvas, watercolor, metal or photographic paper, is the highest quality available in our industry.
A giclée print is one produced by the giclée process. The high end of inkjet printing is the giclée print … . The name is derived from the French verb “gicler” meaning to squirt, or more accurately in this case, an extremely fine spray of many different sized droplets. This application of overlapping dots of ink mixes, forming additional color combinations. The application of the inks in this printing process is so fine that there are no discernible dots or droplets on the final print. — Steven Bleicher, Contemporary Color: Theory and Use, 2012. Giclées are produced from digital scans of existing artwork. — Marjorie Wertz, The Tribune-Review (Greensburg, Pennsylvania), 2 Oct. 2005
While we can do rush orders (depending on our current work load), we would not suggest rushing a quality print order. When you print at Rimrock Art, our job is to turn out the highest quality print possible and quality is worth the wait!
This question is a little like asking “how much does a car cost?” Picture frames are as varied as the photographs and paintings they display. They are available in every color, style, size and decorative theme imaginable. Rather than lure you in with deceptively low prices, we promise to do our best to work within YOUR budget.
The Big-Box Store coupons are deceptive and have been found illegal. Bring us their written estimate and we’ll make you happy you came to us instead.
Great question. The answer is that we simply won’t know until we are able to view the file on our screen. But generally speaking, we’re finding that we can sometimes print an iPhone photo at around 16×20 if it’s a great shot! Click here to upload your photo and we’ll find out.
Yes, we certainly can. There are different ways to get an image on “metal” but we suggest using Chromaluxe panels which were developed for the high-end photographic and art print market.
